Management Experience

Peer Learning Facilitator (PLF) Supervisor Undergraduate students Fall 2016-Present

The PLF program is a STEM Gateway effort to improve the delivery of difficult STEM subjects using responsible undergraduates(PLFs) and integrating active learning strategies into commonly lecture-base classrooms.
Currently, monitoring 10 PLFs by doing weekly trainings and emails together with consistent communication with faculty involved in the program. Trainings will focus on developing ideas to promote the PLF program to other UNM partners (Spring 2017).
Directed 17 PLFs during a no-cost extension grant period that allowed the proper leading towards future alternatives for ~ 40% of the students. This period also was characterized by weekly trainings in professional growth to maximize student success. (Fall 2016).
Assisted in PLF selection panel and hiring process.

Mentorship Experience

Bianca Myers Undergraduate student Spring 2016

Trained her on multiple molecular techniques that increased her value as a research scientist and ultimately made her a more competitive candidate for the work force.
Promoted her independence as a researcher to eventually receive assistance in the advancing of the research needed for my dissertation.
Assisted in manuscript preparation as final assignment for her grade.
